Historic Syndication Mobilizes for Real-Time Election Results Coverage This February

In an unprecedented collaboration, the Association of Digital Television Broadcasting (Thailand) (ADTEB), the Society for Online News Producers (SONP), the Office of the Election Commission of Thailand (ECT), the Thai Public Broadcasting Service (Thai PBS) and partners from both public and private sectors have joined forces with a singular goal: To deliver the fastest and most accurate vote counting reports immediately after ballot boxes close at 5.00pm on February 8th, 2026.

The announcement, made at the Thai PBS Headquarters in Bangkok, was led by key representatives, including Mr. Deaw Woratangtrakul, Secretary of the ADTEB, Acting Sub Lt. Phasakorn Siriphakayaporn, Deputy Secretary-General of the ECT, Mr. Nanthasit Nitmetha, President of the SONP, Mr. Vanchai Tantivttayapitak, Director General of Thai PBS, Mr. Kittisak Sa-adaem, Deputy Director of Data and Information Technology Division from Big Data Institute (BDI), Asst. Prof. Dr. Prinya Thaewananarumitkul, Lecturer on Democracy Studies and Active Citizenry at Thammasat University, and Mr. Yingcheep Atchanont, Executive Director of iLaw and Vote62.

Historic Syndication for Democratic Transparency

This collaborative effort represents the largest coordinated election coverage operation in Thailand's history, combining traditional broadcast media, digital platforms, citizen journalism, academic institutions and civil society organisations to ensure transparent, accurate and real-time reporting of the 2026 General Election and Referendum results.

Real-time reporting operations will start immediately the moment ballot boxes close at 5:00 PM through a nationwide network of over 10,000 volunteers. The network is managed by Thai PBS's citizen journalist team and VOTE62 and civil society data experts, who combine forces with students and faculty from Thammasat University to help verify accuracy. This will ensure that the first vote become visible as soon as vote counting begins—prioritising not just speed, but accuracy.

This election coverage will elevate reporting standards to the next level by directly connecting to data from the Election Commission’s office. The Big Data Institute will process nationwide data, ensuring all media outlets receive the same dataset, for the most comprehensive unofficial results reporting until vote counting is complete.

This national mission would not be possible without crucial support from telecommunications network leaders, who are supporting internet connectivity to ensure smooth and rapid data transmission from every polling unit. Additionally volunteer media partners will help make this election reporting more transparent and efficient than ever before.

Call for Citizen Participation

This reporting effort will become even more powerful with support from Thai citizens. We invite everyone interested to join as ‘Election Monitoring Citizen Reporter Volunteers’, to make this election the most transparent ever.
