Thai PBS is honoured to be the only broadcaster from Thailand to be represented on the jury of Prix Italia 2026, one of the world's longest-running and most prestigious international competitions for public service media, while also submitting five entries to this year’s competition.
Ms. Paphaphorn Chalermvanich, Director of the Corporate Communications and Marketing for Public Centre at Thai PBS, joined the first online jury meeting on 7th July, 2026, as Thai PBS’s official representative and the only jury member from Thailand for Prix Italia 2026. The meeting brought together the organising committee and distinguished jurors from public service media organisations worldwide to discuss the competition framework, evaluation procedures and judging process across all categories. The jurors will review entries, shortlist finalists and reconvene to determine winners, ahead of the Prix Italia Awards Ceremony in October 2026.
Alongside its jury role in the 2026 Prix Italia, Thai PBS has submitted five entries to this year's competition. In the Television category, the broadcaster is competing with the drama series ‘Be Mine... Be Yours’ and the documentary series ‘Rhythm of the Royal Waters’. In the Digital category, Thai PBS has entered ‘A Day in a Life: The Power of Human’ in the Factual category, ‘Thai PBS AI Vertical LIVE’ in the Innovation category and ‘The Scammer: Click • Pay • Cry – The Only Rule of This Game, Trust No One’ in the Multimedia category.
This year, Prix Italia has received more than 250 entries from over 70 broadcasters and media organisations representing more than 40 countries.
Established in 1948 by RAI (Radiotelevisione Italiana), Italy's national broadcaster, Prix Italia is among the oldest and most respected international media competitions. It provides a platform for high-quality media production across the arts, culture and factual storytelling, while fostering collaboration and knowledge sharing among media professionals worldwide. This year marks the festival's 78th edition, themed ‘Play Human’, an exploration of what it means to be human amid the advance of technology and AI, encouraging works that combine innovation with powerful storytelling to create a positive social impact.
Thai PBS sees its participation on the Prix Italia jury as a meaningful opportunity to contribute a perspective from Thai public service media to the international stage, learning alongside and engaging with a global network of broadcasters and media producers.
