Mho Khao Mho Gaeng, translates loosely as ‘The Cooking Pot,’ is a non-fiction children's programme produced by Thai PBS. It guides young audiences through the joy of cooking and the rich cultural heritage of Thai cuisine. The show has long been celebrated domestically for combining entertainment with authentic learning experiences for primary school children.
Its selection as a finalist on the international stage is a testament to the programme's production quality, creativity, and cultural resonance — demonstrating that locally rooted content can achieve recognition far beyond its borders.
The show Mho Khao Mho Gaeng has been shortlisted in two significant categories:
7–10 Years Non-Fiction — This category recognises outstanding factual programming designed to inform, inspire, and support the development of primary school-aged children. This year, 12 productions from around the world made the final shortlist, representing countries including the Netherlands, Germany, Japan, Norway, Colombia, the United Kingdom, Taiwan, the United States, Denmark, and Thailand — a reflection of the rich diversity of quality children's media being produced globally.
PRIX JEUNESSE UNESCO Special Prize 2026 — A distinguished special award presented to productions that excel in promoting mutual understanding between peoples, celebrating cultural diversity, and raising awareness of universal social values in the spirit of UNESCO's mission.
Being held every two years in Munich, the Prix Jeunesse International is widely regarded as the foremost global forum for excellence in children's and youth screen media. The festival brings together content creators, broadcasters, academics, and child development experts from across the world to exchange knowledge on content, innovation, and quality in media for young audiences. The 2026 edition will run from 29 May to 3 June at the Bayerischer Rundfunk in Munich, Germany.
Being selected as a finalist in two categories at Prix Jeunesse International is a reflection of our team's dedication to creating content that is meaningful, culturally rich, and universally relatable...
We hope this recognition will inspire more Thai producers to tell local stories with confidence on the world stage.
