Thai PBS opens its Peace Room Election Command Center (as opposed to a war room) on Sunday, February 8, 2026, to deliver real-time reporting on the general election for Members of Parliament and the 2026 referendum results directly from polling stations nationwide. This unprecedented collaboration brings together 26 media partner organizations from government, private sector, and civil society, beginning immediately after polls close at 5:00 PM.
This collaborative effort marks a historic first in Thai media history, with mass media and civil society working together to report election results systematically, transparently, accurately, and verifiably—ensuring every voice matters in the democratic process.
Real-Time Operations: Speed Meets Accuracy
Mr. Adisak Limprungpattanakij, Deputy Director General of Thai PBS for Technology, explained that the Peace Room Election Command Center will conduct real-time vote counting reports through cooperation among the Digital TV Association (Thailand), Thai PBS, citizen media networks, 26 media partner organizations, and volunteers across the country.
"Results will be reported from polling stations immediately as ballot boxes close and counting begins for both the MP election and referendum, utilizing a nationwide volunteer network of over 10,000 people. The network is managed and operated by Thai PBS's citizen journalist team and VOTE62," Mr. Adisak stated.
The command center will include political science students from Thammasat University, who will verify and filter information before disseminating it through various media outlets. With a Peace Room team of over 200 people working collaboratively, reporting will be conducted swiftly, accurately, transparently, and verifiably.
Comprehensive Press Facilities
Operations on election day will utilize Thai PBS as the central hub for real-time results reporting, beginning at 3:00 PM onward. Thai PBS has also established a Press Center for foreign correspondents, equipped with monitors displaying real-time election results and data from multiple perspectives to facilitate news coverage and support communication of Thailand's election information to domestic and international media.
Beyond volunteer reporting from citizens, the initiative features direct data connectivity from the Office of the Election Commission (EC). The Big Data Institute will process nationwide data, ensuring all media outlets receive the same dataset for the most comprehensive unofficial results reporting until counting concludes.
"This unofficial election results reporting isn't just about speed—what's crucial is accuracy. The moment ballot boxes close at 5:00 PM, real-time reporting operations will commence immediately," Mr. Adisak emphasized.

Thai PBS news teams will monitor all developments throughout Sunday, February 8, 2026, from 7:30 AM to midnight, tracking election atmospheres from polling station openings through closures, vote counting, election result analysis, and coalition formation trends.
