Thai PBS has signed a cooperation agreement with TV BRICS, one of Russia’s main international media outlets, to strengthen global media exchange and expand cultural dialogue across continents. The agreement has been formalised between Thai PBS Director General Vanchai Tantivitayapitak and TV BRICS CEO Janna Tolstikova.
Under this cooperation, Thai PBS becomes the first media partner of TV BRICS in Thailand. The collaboration will enable Thai PBS to share Thailand’s stories and perspectives with audiences across BRICS+ countries, while also gaining access to timely news and original content from BRICS+ media partners. The cooperation covers content exchange, joint media productions and the co-promotion of cultural and social initiatives.
Thai PBS is pleased to begin this new chapter of cooperation with TV BRICS. This partnership opens meaningful opportunities to share diverse perspectives and stories with a wider international audience. We believe that, by working together, Thai PBS and TV BRICS can foster greater cultural understanding, promote dialogue among peoples and contribute to a more connected global community.
- Vanchai Tantivitayapitak, Thai PBS Director General
We are delighted that TV BRICS’ cooperation with Thailand, a BRICS partner country, is beginning with such a reputable media outlet as Thai PBS. Our joint work will focus primarily on strengthening cooperation between BRICS+ and ASEAN countries in the field of media communications and shaping a broad international agenda. We are confident that the materials provided by Thai PBS and adapted by TV BRICS for distribution in different countries around the world will give new impetus to the development of this amazing country and demonstrate its unique cultural features, economic, and tourism potential.
- Janna Tolstikova, TV BRICS CEO
About TV BRICS and the BRICS Media Network
Founded in 2017, following the BRICS Summit in China, TV BRICS was created to connect BRICS member states and their partners through media cooperation. It already has a subscriber base of 12 million and broadcasts in Russian, English, Chinese, Portuguese, Spanish and Arabic. Its programming covers news, politics, economics, culture, sports, education and lifestyle.
Thailand is the third ASEAN member state, after Vietnam and Malaysia, to join the network. In late 2024, TV BRICS executives expressed interest in cooperating with Thai media, emphasising opportunities for the production and exchange of documentaries and other programs on society, education, culture, tourism and the environment.
This cooperation marks an important step in Thai PBS’s mission to bring Thailand’s perspectives to the world and strengthen ASEAN–BRICS+ media ties.
