The Asiavision Awards, organised by the Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union (ABU), recognise outstanding journalism and news coverage produced by broadcasters across the region. The annual awards celebrate excellence in areas including breaking news, impactful reporting, digital journalism, environmental coverage, technology and inclusive storytelling, with entries judged on accuracy, newsworthiness, visual quality and audience impact.
Thai PBS has received two AsiaVision awards in 2026 in recognition of outstanding journalism, storytelling and production.
The awards are as follows:
1. Rising Star Award
The Rising Star Award recognises an exceptional journalist under the age of 30 who demonstrates strong professional promise, editorial maturity and investigative tenacity early in their career.
The award was presented for “Preserving ‘Khon’: The Royal Legacy of the Late Queen Mother.” The story was created by former Thai PBS content creator Warissara Sae-han together with the Thai PBS World team.
2. AsiaVision Monthly Award for April
Thai PBS’s coverage, “Songkran celebrations start nationwide with processions and water events,” was named the winner of the AsiaVision Monthly Award for April.
The award is voted on by ABU News members, recognising stories that stand out among broadcasters across the region. The Songkran coverage was praised for its engaging storytelling, technical quality and consistently high production standards.
The two awards reflect Thai PBS’s continued commitment to producing high-quality journalism for audiences in Thailand and across the region.
