Science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics (STEAM) are required subjects for the next generation. They are essential skills for navigating a rapidly changing world. As Thailand’s public service broadcaster, Thai PBS has a priority to support science learning and inspire curiosity through both media content and hands-on initiatives.

This year, Thai PBS took part in the Thailand National Science and Technology Fair 2025 (NST Fair 2025), one of the country’s largest gatherings of educators, researchers and innovators. The Thai PBS booth offered interactive exhibits and programming that allowed visitors, especially young learners, to see how science is intertwined with everyday life. The participation reflected the organisation’s ongoing efforts to make scientific knowledge accessible, engaging and relevant to the public.

Beyond participating in the fair, Thai PBS has developed other on-the-ground projects that strengthen STEAM education at its roots. For example, the Thai PBS Kid Rangers STEAM Teachers’ Brainstorming Camps, which have been held continuously over the years, are designed to provide educators with new methods and resources for teaching science, technology, engineering and maths in creative and practical ways (with an arts element). The 9th season of the camp will be held at Thai PBS Headquarters on the 19th and 20th of September 2025.

By empowering teachers, Thai PBS extends its impact beyond broadcasting, helping classrooms across the country foster a spirit of inquiry and innovation.

On screen, Thai PBS has consistently highlighted scientific issues, through children’s programs, documentaries and in-depth reporting. Topics range from climate change and space exploration to emerging technologies that are shaping modern society. Online platforms further expand this reach, offering on-demand learning resources for audiences of all ages.
These efforts illustrate how a public media organisation’s role could go beyond information delivery. Thai PBS positions itself as a bridge, connecting research and classrooms, scientists and citizens, teachers and students. The goal is not only to inform, but also to encourage a culture of curiosity and problem-solving, equipping Thai youth to meet future challenges with confidence.

As STEAM continues to drive global educational development, Thai PBS’s work highlights the ways media can contribute to national progress. By engaging with both learners and educators, the organisation underscores the simple but powerful belief that science belongs to everyone, and learning should be both inspiring and inclusive.
