Every Voice Matters: Thai PBS stated 8 Public Media Missions for Thailand's 2026 Election

Mr. Vanchai Tantivitayapitak, Director General of the Thai Public Broadcasting Service (Thai PBS), stated that this election marks a critical moment for Thai society to collectively shape the country's future direction. Beyond its news reporting duties, Thai PBS emphasizes its role as a ‘bridge’ that not only conveys policies and ideas from politicians to citizens for informed decision-making, but also channels ‘the voices of the people’ back to decision-makers and the incoming government. This ensures that national policies are grounded in authentic voices from all segments of society.

"Throughout the 2026 election period, Thai PBS has mobilized forces from all internal units, including Thai PBS News, The Active, Citizen Media Network, Thai PBS Verify, and partners from all sectors to collaboratively create an information system, news coverage, and public forums that are genuinely accessible to citizens across all dimensions—including policy debates, fact-checking, opinion surveys, and transparent result reporting," said Mr. Vanchai.

Under the #เสียงของทุกคนฝ่าวิกฤตประเทศไทย (lit. means EveryVoicehx) and #Election69 campaign, Thai PBS has outlined 8 missions to drive comprehensive communication during the 2026 election, covering information, news, fact-checking, policy debate platforms, and public participation:

1. Revamped Programming Schedule

Thai PBS will expand election communication coverage leading up to election day across both broadcast and online platforms. Coverage includes in-depth news programs, policy analysis, fact-checking, and spaces for citizens to reflect their perspectives on political and social issues from multiple dimensions.

2. Policy Watch Connect 2026: Mobilizing for Transformation

'The Active', in collaboration with the Senate's Committee on Political Development, Public Participation, Human Rights, Rights, Freedoms and Consumer Protection, King Prajadhipok's Institute, the National Health Commission Office (NHCO), Thai Health Promotion Foundation (ThaiHealth), Thailand Development Research Institute (TDRI), and various civil society networks, will organize 10 Policy Forums addressing 6 critical national issues. The event will feature exhibitions showcasing policy communication tools for tracking and implementing public policies, along with Policy Networking sessions that bring together policymakers, political parties, and citizens. The event runs from January 12-23, 2026, at Sappaya-Saphasathan, Parliament House, Samsen Road, Bangkok.

3. Every Voice is Meaningful: Local Voices Initiative

Collecting urgent local problems to pose questions to political parties through Popup Newsrooms with Thai PBS Locals, local public media network partners, citizen media networks and citizen journalists, and regional public media creative centers nationwide. These networks will join in real-time election result reporting with 24 organizations, the Digital TV Association, and election monitoring volunteers.

4. Thai PBS Tracking POLL

Opening platforms to receive opinions, feedback, and gauge interest in the 2026 election through 'Thai PBS Tracking POLL'—a real-time survey measuring political party popularity via the D-Vote system. The poll was open from December 23, 2025, to January 31, 2026, via LINE @ThaiPBS, with the first results reported on January 7, 2026.

5. 4-Region Debate Forums

Elevated and more intensive debate forums where candidates from various political parties not only present policies but also provide a space where citizens become the 'questioners' actively shaping political direction themselves.

6. Traveling Election Campaign Exhibition

The #เสียงของทุกคนฝ่าวิกฤตประเทศไทย traveling exhibition and campaign activities at Central shopping centers nationwide aim to reach urban and regional citizens. Presenting essential election information in accessible, modern, and participatory formats, along with educational activities about rights, responsibilities, and fact-checking during the election period.
