STRENGTHEN THAI PBS – CCTV COOPERATION

On 27 June 2012, Thepchai Yong, Managing Director of Thai PBS, Chairat Thomya, Editor in Chief of International News, and Pattamon Rungchavalnont, International Relations Coordinator, visited China Central Television (CCTV) headquarters in Beijing. Thai PBS representatives were warmly welcomed by Sun Yusheng, Vice President of CCTV, Cao Ri, Director of International News, and Chen Xiaojian, Deputy Director of International Relations. A cooperation agreement was signed by executives of the two broadcasters in order to continue their fruitful collaborations.

Since 2008, Thai PBS and CCTV have joined hands as partner broadcasters in the area of news programs exchange. With the renewed agreement, the two stations aim to strengthen and expand their collaboration to the area of news co-production and exchange of news reporters.

On this occasion, Thai PBS delegates also had the opportunity to explore CCTV facilities and their operation. Overseeing over twenty television channels, CCTV provides Chinese and international audiences with a wide range of programs, from news and documentaries to entertainment programs. To ensure a prompt and accurate news reporting, CCTV set up local news centers in all the provinces of China plus over seventy news centers in major countries around the world.
