BBS – THAI PBS LEARNING & SHARING PROGRAM

On September 10 – 14, 2012, a delegation of fifteen television and radio producers from Bhutan Broadcasting Service (BBS) paid visit to Thai PBS to exchange knowledge and experiences in program production for family, women and children in the five-day “Cross-Cultural Learning and Sharing” program.

The program has been carried out for two consecutive years as a part of cooperation between the Bhutanese national television and Thailand’s only public broadcaster. Under the MOU, the two TV partners agree to facilitate news and program exchange, co-production and staff internship. This specific project is designed to help the two partners enhance their personnel’s skills in content development and production to be able to deliver to the audience programs of high-quality.

During their stay, the BBS delegates participated in trainings on value-added methods for edutainment and documentary production conducted by both professionals at Thai PBS and a foreign expert, followed by a workshop on camera shooting techniques with a well-acclaimed singer-camera director, Chaluay Srirattana. They also visited FM 105 Mhz station to learn about children-oriented radio programs in Thailand, and Kantana Animation Studio where they had a glimpse of an ever growing Thai animated film industry.
