The Mini-INPUT Southeast Asia, Australia and New Zealand 2012 was held for the first time in this region at Thai Public Broadcasting Service (Thai PBS) from September 27-29, 2012.
The first regional Mini-INPUT was initiated and driven by the Goethe-Institut, an official Associate Member of INPUT that has been organizing a number of Mini-INPUT conferences in different parts of the world for many years. When the German cultural institution decided to bring this year’s event to the Southeast Asia, Thai PBS, a long-time cooperating partner with the Goethe-Institut, was not hesitate to offer the hosting venue equipped with all-new, high-technology facilities and a cozy mini-theatre.
More than a dozen delegates from the ASEAN countries took part in the two-day screening and discussion. The participants were presented with best selected international programs from INPUT Sydney 2012 and showcases from seven ASEAN public broadcasters, including Cambodia, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam. After screening, the delegates were allowed to comment and exchange suggestions with the producers of the program during the discussion sections led by professional shop stewards from Australia, New Zealand and Germany.
INPUT (INternaitonal PUblic Television) is a voluntary organization that has organized the international’s most important and influential annual screening conference for thirty years. The showcase focuses specifically on the innovative programs produced for public service broadcasting with an aim to promote the highest quality television programming and the development of public broadcasters.
