The Thai Public Broadcasting Service (Thai PBS) is honoured to be the host of the Asia Media Summit 2012 which will take place on May 29 - 30, 2012 in Bangkok. On behalf of Thai PBS, I am pleased to invite you to attend this important event as a guest of Thai PBS.

The Asia Media Summit was initiated in 2004 by the Asia-Pacific Institute for Broadcasting Development (AIBD) and since has become one the biggest media events in the Asia-Pacific region. It provides an important platform for broadcasters, academics and experts from different sectors to share ideas and exchange information contribute to the role of the broadcast media.

The theme of the Asia Media Summit 2012 is Creating Impact: Media in Today's Society. The forum will discuss the role of media in development and nation building. In the face of new challenges posed by political, economic and social changes around the globe, many new questions about the role of media have emerged. In Asia-Pacific, has media served as a positive force or stumbling block to development? How can media engage more to serve the ends of development without risking professional and ethical standards as well as sustainability?

We look forward to welcoming you at the Asia Media Summit 2012 which will take place at Centara Grand Bangkok. Please see details of the conference and related activities in the attached brochure.
