Advocates from the 2025 Thai PBS Journalist Fellowship

The 2025 Thai PBS Journalist Fellowship has recently concluded its latest cycle, bringing together a cohort of emerging and mid-career journalists for an intensive period of learning, mentoring, and collaborative exchange. The 2-month program provided fellows with opportunities to strengthen reporting skills, deepen subject-matter understanding, and develop story ideas grounded in public interest journalism—reinforcing Thai PBS’s commitment to credible, ethical, and impactful storytelling. They had worked alongside the Thai PBS World team and were shortly to join the Thai PBS Digital Media Center. As the fellowship comes to a close, fellows reflect on their experience, the support they received, and how the program will shape their work going forward.

Two months spent in the 2025 Thai PBS Journalist Fellowship Program have been enriching and meaningful for me. It has been an honor to be selected for this initiative. Being part of this program has allowed me to broaden my perspectives, reinforce my reporting skills, and engage with experienced professionals who are passionate about serving the public interest through journalism. It also allowed me to experience Bangkok through the lens of a journalist. I sincerely appreciate the trust, guidance, and support extended by the passionate Thai PBS World team throughout this fellowship. The warmth of the team has further motivated me to contribute responsibly and thoughtfully to the field of journalism. Thank you for creating such a valuable platform for learning and collaboration, and for allowing me to be part of the 2025 cohort.

My fellowship at Thai PBS World has been an incredible learning experience. Beyond the chance to produce articles, videos and podcasts, I gained firsthand insight into how a public service newsroom operates with purpose and integrity. The guidance from directors and the support of the team challenged me to grow professionally and personally. I’ve learned to approach stories with discipline, cultural sensitivity and curiosity, and I’ll carry these lessons with me throughout my career. The warmth, collaboration and values I experienced at Thai PBS have left a lasting impression making this fellowship truly unforgettable.

Thai PBS World looks forward to seeing how the fellows translate these learnings into rigorous, public-interest reporting—and to strengthening and developing the collaborative network of journalists in the region.
