Thai PBS, Mirror Foundation, academic networks, and civil society organizations join forces to help figure out solutions and plans in dealing with the ongoing southern flood crisis. The initiative acts as a 'catalyst' to create a movement parallel to the government's War Room. It aims to support and fill gaps in the ongoing Southern Thailand flood situation. (Click to view our drone footage of the flood affected area of the flood-affected area in Songkla province) From now on, disaster volunteer management operations will take place daily at Thai PBS Headquarters, Vipavadi-Rangsit.
The discussions were organized into the following 11 focus areas;
- Creative crisis communication
- Submerged vehicle management
- Food management (food data center)
- Sub-shelter center coordination
- Donation system management
- Volunteer system management
- Mental health care
- Infectious disease prevention
- Deceased person management
- Waste management
- Child care and water hazards
Other than the newly set up citizen war room, Thai PBS has also been gathering donations and prepare the nescessities before shipping them down to be distributed in the flood affected areas in the south.
